At Carlos and Lupita's restaurants we love to see smiles, fun, and something that characterizes us is that we are very family-friendly restaurants.
For two consecutive years we have won the award for most family-friendly restaurant (according to the Toledo City Paper) and the Cinco de Mayo celebration will not be the exception.
For years Lupita and I discovered that this day generates a lot of stress not only in my family, but also in our employees, especially the kitchen employees.
For many people, the Cinco de Mayo festivities are an excuse to drink a lot of alcohol, for us it is a special day in which the whole family is welcome, for years, we have focused on making it a not so heavy day for our employees.
We also want families to come and enjoy (with children included) this special day.
We will have Live Music at 5 ( Abbigale Rose) and we will offer DORA Margaritas on the street.
For this Sunday we do not modify the work hours (3pm-9pm) but we will have specials on food and drinks on Saturday and Sunday and on Sunday the 5th at 5pm we have many t-shirts to give away.

After a very intense week due to our special dinner with Number JUAN Tequila and Alex Reymundo and the preparation of the Cinco de Mayo festivities weekend, finally this morning I woke up wanting to create something tasty for my Mexican culinary curiosities and I decided to cook Mexican style beef barbacoa. Mexican BBQ is seasoned very simply and cooked slowly to enjoy the natural flavors of the meat.
For this occasion, I put it inside a burrito with Cuban-style black beans and covered with spicy roasted tomatillo sauce and my homemade cheese sauce. Accompanied by freshly chopped lettuce, tomatoes or sour cream.

What a wonderful night we had yesterday, everything was perfect, the weather (Thank you my God), the food and the cocktails (Thank you Lupita and Marycris), the service, the music (Thank you Abbigale Rose), those who attended, but above all Alex Reymundo and its delicious Number JUAN Tequila.
For those who don't know, Alex came with us because he was very excited when he found out we had the monthly tequila tasting and he told me that he would love to be in Perrysburg one day, and the day came and it was totally fantastic. He didn't ask us for anything in return, just one condition, that we make the menu infused with his tequilas and my wife's (Lupita Garcia-Mendez) magic and creativity took care of the rest.
For those who were there last night, I ask you to share some photos or videos with me, my phone couldn't handle the excitement and died last night (haha).
